Mr. Conyers has been featured in performances throughout the Tidewater region in Virginia and Winston Salem, NC. He has appeared in the opera chorus of Virginia Opera. Todi Music Festival, and Piedmont Opera, performing such opera’s as Die Fledermaus, Amahl and the Night Visitors, La traviata, Radamisto, Our Town (Rorem), La fille du regiment, Lucia di Lammermoor, Turandot, and Manon Lescaut. He has been a featured soloist for Faure Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols, Bach’s Magnificat, and Saint Saens Christmas Oratorio. Recently, Joshua participated in Manteo’s Summer Performance Festival, Piedmont Opera’s Educational Outreach Program, Opera Theatre of the Rockies Vocal Arts Symposium, and the Magnolia Baroque Festival.

Joshua Conyers is a student at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance and is a student of Dr. Marilyn Taylor.

Shivers Concert Series at PPLD presents:

“An Evening of Inspirational Word and Song” in honor of Ms. Opal Lee, the “Grandmother of Juneteenth,” featuring special guest Ms. Gigi Coleman, great grandniece of Bessie Coleman the first female African American pilot.

This year’s concert is being offered at no charge. Seating is limited, however, RSVPs are still required.
